The Twins agreed to terms Tuesday with right-handed reliever Jesse Crain on a three-year deal that will keep him in Minnesota through the 2009 season. The 25-year-old Crain went 4-5 with a 3.52 ERA in 68 appearances last season, finishing the year strong to help the Twins rally to their fourth AL Central title in five seasons. In his final 22 appearances, Crain was 2-0 with a 0.38 ERA and allowed just 14 hits.
In two-plus seasons with the Twins, Crain is 19-10 and has emerged as one of the team’s most reliable arms in the bullpen.
