This is the newest speculation. The Red Sox are trying to trade Manny and throw in Clement for Tejada. In my opinion would be a terrible move, unless tejada can cover Left and center field.

Saturday, December 10th, 2005In another attempt to move unhappy superstar Manny Ramirez, the Red Sox front office offered to trade him straight up for All-Universe Shortstop Miguel Tejada. This coming immediately after Tejada made his feelings public that he was not happy in Baltimore and did not have faith in the future of the ballclub. Shortly after that, he mentioned that if and when he would be moved, he would like to stay on the East Coast, preferably in Boston.
Seeing that he is by far Baltimore’s best player, and basically the face of the franchise, I highly doubt that anything will come of this. The only outside possibility might be if the Red Sox make the offer so lucrative, that the Orioles would have to say yes. Possible ways of making the offer look a little more palpable would be to throw in a nice chunk of money towards the remaining 3 years, $57 million on Manny’s contract and to throw in maybe Bronson Arroyo or a young arm in their farm system.
